Through my study of Christian Science I have been comforted, steadied, and healed. The testimonies of healings given in the Christian Science periodicals have been so helpful that I can no longer refrain from adding mine. During the First World War, I was notified to report for a physical examination by Army doctors for induction into military service. The doctors verified the verdict of my own doctor that I had advanced tuberculosis, and they disqualified me for service in the Army.

I was then sent to the country to take a fresh-air cure, but this brought adverse results; so my doctor said there was nothing more he could do for me, as the disease was too far advanced. I came home very much discouraged. A neighbor recommended that I try Christian Science, and with the loving help of a practitioner I was healed in three months. I have since had healings of heart trouble and constipation. Social drinking, smoking, and resentment have been overcome.

With all my heart I thank God for restoring me to health. I am grateful to Mary Baker Eddy for the wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and to the practitioner for her kindness and patience.—John E. Bauer, Newton, New Jersey.
