SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT

The student of Christian Science knows that by reason of man's unity with God, true consciousness, he reflects the power to discern the very presence of God and to perceive all things spiritually. Mary Baker Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 206), "It is the province of spiritual sense to govern man."'

The use of our spiritual sense enables us to deny the testimony of the physical senses and to claim the truth of being, the healing presence of Truth and Love.

Only the revelation of Christian Science gives us the power to understand and to use the commandment (Ex. 20:16), "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour," for it teaches us to know ourselves spiritually as God's image and likeness and to discern the same truth of being for our brother.
