"I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock" (Ps. 40:1, 2). Christian Science lifted me from the miry clay of illness and despondency and set my feet upon the rock of spiritual truth, the truth that makes us free.

The first healing which I experienced was that of an enlarged thyroid gland. A physician who had treated me for this trouble conferred with another physician and said that an immediate operation was necessary. He added that serious consequences might result if I waited even one week.

Upon leaving the examination room, I decided to turn to Christian Science for healing. I told my husband that I would not have an operation, because I believed that God could heal me. Through absolute reliance on God's power, as taught in Christian Science, I became entirely free from the difficulty. This healing was not immediate, but it has been permanent.
