THE TRUE RECORD

After explaining that the healing which she taught had not gone on since the beginning of the Christian era, Mary Baker Eddy answers the question (Unity of Good, p. 9), "What is the cardinal point of the difference in my metaphysical system?" by saying, "This: that by knowing the unreality of disease, sin, and death, you demonstrate the allness of God." This cardinal point of difference wholly separates her system from all others.

Mrs. Eddy's knowledge that primitive Christian healing was done through a pure, uplifted faith inspired her to search for a positive rule of healing. For three years after her discovery she retired from society and studied the Bible. The Comforter promised by Jesus was revealed to her, and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" sets forth this revelation.

A Christian Scientist learns to study reality. He becomes familiar with the Word of God as the law of his being. Because Christian Science is the law of God, it is the law of good, not good combined with evil, but good alone. Christian Science is the study of everlasting life—celestial being. The student finds there is no other being for man.
