I should like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude for our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It has enabled me to enter two professions which have sustained me financially for the past thirty years.

In 1924, after living a happy married life of ease and comfort for twenty years, I was told that my husband could not live more than three weeks. I borrowed a copy of Science and Health from a neighboring Reading Room and began to read. I read on page 6: "God is not separate from the wisdom He bestows. The talents He gives we must improve."

Since I needed an income and had often helped my friends to beautify their homes, I then and there decided to become a professional interior decorator. I did so and made a success of the work. My husband also began reading Science and Health and ceased having medical care. He recovered and lived over seventeen years longer than had been predicted.
