I wish to express my deep gratitude...

I wish to express my deep gratitude for all the good I have received since coming into Christian Science. The first healing in our family was that of my mother. She had been a semi-invalid for about six years, due to heart trouble and other physical conditions. Three doctors were consulted, and in turn each gave the verdict that they could not do anything for her. After the third doctor had left, Mother was asked to try Christian Science. She had refused to do so before, but this time she consented with the remark, "I will give it a trial to prove that there is not anything in the pages of a book that will heal my pains and aches." She studied honestly and faithfully, and doing her work, completely healed. This healing has been permanent.

Several years later I married and moved to a distant state. During this stay away from my former home, my son was born under Christian Science treatment. The birth was without pain or discomfort, and a few days thereafter I packed and made an eighteen-hour train trip by day coach to my previous home. The freedom I felt was a beautiful proof of God's power and care.

In 1946 I was in an automobile accident. I was picked up unconscious and taken to a hospital. The statement was made by the doctors that I would not live through the night. When they found me alive the next day, they said I would never walk again. My back, pelvis, shoulder, and arm were broken. I held to the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words on page 424 of Science and Health, "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection."
