With a heart overflowing with gratitude I should like to tell just a bit of what Christian Science means to me. After I had been reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for only a few days, I realized that I was healed of chronic constipation, which had existed for twenty-four years.

About the same time a sprained ankle was healed, and a sense of despondency disappeared. I was clearly conscious of a wonderful light breaking in my consciousness, though I did not know just what was happening. One of our beautiful hymns describes it for me (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 64): "My heart is singing: I have found the way."

From the very first I loved the blessed truth in our textbook, which I read morning, noon, and night, accepting every word of it. Soon friends began to comment upon my visible improvement, for I not only felt different, but I even looked different. Some of the healings I have experienced, in addition to the ones I have mentioned, were those of a broken arm, nervous exhaustion, influenza, tonsillitis, grippe, an abscess, blood poisoning, and results of accidents. A sense of inferiority and inability to speak or read in public have been overcome.
