Although, as Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 3), "Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks," it does not follow, I feel sure, that one should withhold the expression. I have received much encouragement from spoken and written testimonies of healing through Christian Science and have had healings throughout the more than thirty years I have been a student of this Science.

The outstanding physical healing was that of asthma, from which I had suffered since childhood. The attacks of this malady grew more severe as I advanced to maturity. Change of climate, material remedies, and doctors' advice gave no relief nor any promise of healing.

After I became interested in Christian Science my study of the Bible and the works of Mrs. Eddy and my reading of the Christian Science periodicals gave me hope. Also, the practitioners I called upon for help gave me relief on numerous occasions. The complete healing followed a consecrated study of Science, which helped me to cast out much fear and the solid conviction I entertained that this disease belonged to me and was a part of my very being. With the patient and loving help of a practitioner I gradually began to experience less and less distress from asthma. Then one day I realized almost with amazement that I had not had a single evidence of it for a whole year, and there has been no return of it.
