While living in a country where there were no Churches of Christ, Scientist, I felt especially grateful to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for establishing the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," as the impersonal pastor of our church. Thus my pastor was no farther away from me than my hotel room.

I know that my salvation and the salvation of the whole world rest on obedience to the commands of our Master, Christ Jesus. The Gospels set forth these commands, and in Science and Health our Leader explains how we can actually put them into practice.
