PROPER SUBORDINATION

The Bible records that Moses was a very meek man. This characteristic enabled him to apprehend God as I AM THAT I AM, the All-in-all. Following this recognition of God's omnipotence and omnipresence, Moses performed many mighty works. No weakness, no emasculation there!

Christ Jesus, subordinating self to God, Spirit, was able with a word to still the boisterous sea, open blind eyes, heal the leper and the cripple, restore the insane to sanity, raise the dead, and do other marvelous works. His conscious subordination to God was indicated when he said (John 5:19), "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."

You and I will be able to demonstrate the dominion which our Master expressed when we acknowledge God to be All-in-all, the only power and presence, the only cause and creator, the only Life and Mind, the only substance of man and the universe, and when we see man as His image and likeness, governed by His law. When an individual comes to recognize God as the only cause and man as the effect of this cause, he puts on meekness—the meekness which inherits the earth. This meekness, however, is not a synonym for weakness and has nothing in common with an inferiority complex. When the human is completely subordinate to the divine, there is order, and this order is expressed in health, peace, joy, and other evidences of well-being.
