Eight years ago I found Christian Science through a woman who waited on me in a beauty shop. My words to my husband when I returned home after first meeting her were these: "I met a woman today who has everything I want. She has no fear and is completely at peace, I don't know what she has, but I want it." After learning that Christian Science had transformed this woman's experience from sickness and fear to health and fearlessness, I began to study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Soon I took up the study of the Lesson-sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly.

I had been extremely fearful, had suffered pain constantly, and was under a physician's care for colitis and hemorrhoids. After studying Science and Health for a few weeks, I was completely free from these ailments. The smoking habit of twelve years' standing was also overcome. Our home changed from one of tension and fear to one of harmony and love. As a result, our little boy expressed more obedience and better health. My greatest desire was to live these words of our Master, Christ Jesus (Matt. 5:16): "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Our two youngest children were born harmoniously and painlessly with the aid of a Christian Science practitioner. At the birth of our youngest child this statement of our beloved Leader's sustained me (Science and Health, p. 14): "Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man's dominion over the whole earth."
