OVERCOMING GENERALLY ACCEPTED BELIEFS
The foundation of every healing performed by Jesus was the spiritual understanding that God is the universal, infinite, and omnipotent source of all good. Jesus went about his healing ministry seeing man as the immortal image of God. His healing power was manifested in order that mankind's spiritual perception of God and of man's relationship to Him might be enlarged.
Mary Baker Eddy states in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." This Love annihilates the images of disease, sin, and death and brings forth the true reflection—man, perfect and harmonious.
The aggregate of all the spurious claims formulated in the human mind is nothing more than a collection of false beliefs, which have no reality, no lawful source. Since these beliefs have neither divine purpose nor durability, they cannot retain their suppositional claim to reality when they are recognized for what they really are—nothing. When properly applied, spiritual sense, as revealed by Christian Science, wipes out every vestige of material sense.
