I submit this testimony with the wish to share with others some of the blessings I have had in Christian Science. This practical truth came to me early in my married life when I was searching for some definite proof of God and His laws. I have since learned that its coming was a direct answer to prayer, or pure desire.

Shortly after coming into Christian Science, my husband and I were led to adopt a baby girl. She weighed only three and a half pounds, and later some of my friends told me they had thought she would not live. We relied only on Christian Science, and she has now grown to normal, harmonious womanhood.

About three years ago I had a wonderful healing of what would probably be called a tumor, although there was no medical diagnosis, since a doctor was not consulted. For a period of about three years I had struggled with a sense of increasing heaviness. My weight went from my normal weight of one hundred and fifty pounds to one hundred and seventy-six pounds. A near relative urged me to have an operation, but I firmly and audibly repudiated this suggestion.

Then during a period of mental depression and physical difficulty resulting from an injured knee, I felt I must have some help. So I called a friend and requested Christian Science treatment, which was lovingly given. That night when I retired, the angel thought came to me that Christ, Truth, is forever present. When I wakened in the morning I felt so free and my body felt so much lighter that I stepped on the scales. I found that I was sixteen pounds lighter than on the previous day. Within forty-eight hours I lost twenty-six pounds, and then the loss of weight stopped.

By this time all sense of mental depression had vanished, and the injured leg was normal. A case of hemorrhoids, from which I had been suffering, was healed at the same time. To me, these healings were definite proof of Mary Baker Eddy's words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 162): "Christian Science acts as an alterative, neutralizing error with Truth. It changes the secretions, expels humors, dissolves tumors, relaxes rigid muscles, restores carious bones to soundness."

I am deeply grateful to know of God's law, which, when correctly applied, operates so wonderfully. We can never be too grateful for Mrs. Eddy's life of love and devotion in laboring to give us the healing truth.
