Christian Science has enabled me to recognize that Christ, or Truth, is always with us. Our Saviour said (Matt. 28:20), "I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." I am grateful for this consciousness, for at all times we can listen to the voice of Christ.

Due to a serious accident, in which I suffered a badly injured ankle, it was very hard for me to get about. I could not use the foot and was told that it would require at least four weeks for the ankle to be well. However, the very next day after the accident I began to think of the healings Christ Jesus had performed, and I felt as though these words were being addressed to me (Mark 5:36): "Be not afraid, only believe." At that moment I was free from all fear and also free from pain in my foot. The healing was instantaneous, and I was able to stand on the foot.

At another time I was struck full in the face by boiling oil. I did prayerful work and realized the divine power inherent in such prayer. No further protective thoughts were needed. There was not the slightest evidence of injury or redness of skin.

When thought is filled with love we cannot remain either in fear or in pain. Jesus said (John 12:32), "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." In the measure that we have received the Christ and have been uplifted by it, we are prepared to work gratefully in the vineyard of our Lord.—Rudolf Herbert Koch, Berlin-Mariendorf, Germany.
