Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Long Beach, California (Fourth Church).

Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, Long Beach, 201 E. Market Street, will hold dedication services on Sunday, July 22, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

In 1924, two years after North Long Beach was established, a small group of Christian Scientists began meeting in homes to hold Sunday services and Wednesday testimony meetings. In 1927, Christian Science Society, Long Beach, was formed, becoming a recognized branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. A year later the society became Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, Long Beach.
