Of Special Interest to College Students
A meeting to consider and further the mission and purpose of Christian Science Organizations, formed in accordance with Article XXIII, Section 8, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, is planned for September 5, 6, and 7, 1957, in Boston.
The first one of these meetings was held in 1955, and the event proved so helpful that The Christian Science Board of Directors has approved of plans for another. The activities of college and university organizations affect the spiritual progress of the individual student, the leavening of thought in the entire academic community, the future growth of the Church of Christ, Scientist, as well as the development of world thinking; and they have grown in significance in recent years.
Through their participation in Christian Science Organizations, many college students have experienced proof of the utility of the moral and spiritual culture of Christian Science and have found that Science elevates and purifies all who practice its religious tenets. During the forthcoming three-day meeting in the original edifice of The Mother Church, students will enjoy listening to and sharing with others from different parts of the world experiences of healing and progress.
Any student who is a member of The Mother Church and who is enrolled in a college or university during the academic year of 1956-1957 or who will be enrolled during the academic year of 1957-1958 is invited to attend. Also, members of The Mother Church who have had or will have faculty or instructor status in a college or university during either of the above-mentioned academic years are eligible to be present. Organization advisors or sponsors are welcome as observers.
Complete details regarding the meeting are being forwarded directly to the college organizations and to Christian Science college organization information committees in branch churches and societies. Inquiries may be addressed to the Department of Branches and Practitioners, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
