"Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isa. 9:6). I thank God for revealing to mankind the wonderful Christ, Truth, demonstrated by Jesus and discovered in this age by Mrs. Eddy.

It is my desire to share an experience that brought me a clear sense of the Christ. At that time I had been studying the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly for about two months. I was subject to heart attacks, and while I was at a party one of these attacks struck me. A doctor was summoned by one of the guests, but no medication was administered, and I was taken home.

Two days later I suffered another attack. I felt that my life was being snuffed out and that I was slipping away. The telephone was within my reach, and I was able to muster enough strength to call a Christian Science practitioner for help. In a few minutes she was in my room. As she entered, she said, "God loves you." As she prayerfully worked, she urged me to hold on to God, and I did so with all my heart. The practitioner stayed with me for several hours. Before she left I was sitting up in bed studying Christian Science. Her parting words were, "Rejoice, for this is an opportunity to know God better."
