The words of our great Master, Christ Jesus (Mark 12:31), "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself," were made practical to me by a neighbor years ago. I had been suffering from a painful eye disorder. A prominent eye specialist had done all he could for me, but with no relief.

This dear neighbor recommended that I seek help through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I procured a copy from a nearby Reading Room and read almost steadily for three days. Gloriously liberating and satisfying truths unfolded to my spiritually starved consciousness, bringing healing and clarity of vision.

During my girlhood there had been a natural desire to turn often to God in prayer, though I had a confused concept of the creator. Now this wonderful textbook was teaching me the truth concerning God and revealing the spiritual interpretation of the Bible. It was as a ray of pure spiritual light, shining through the darkness where accumulated false beliefs had been. I had been divinely led to a satisfying and demonstrable religion. One of the greatest joys was to learn that God is man's Life. No longer need I fear death or dread the mystery of a hereafter, for Christ, Truth, reveals the true, spiritual, eternal existence.
