Since I have always been grateful to read of the experiences, healings, and progress of students of Christian Science in their growth Spiritward, I should like to add my contribution.

About four years ago, while en route to New York City prior to leaving for a trip alone to Europe. I was seized suddenly and severely with a heart attack. The pain was so extreme that it was with difficulty that I was taken from the train into the terminal by a member of my family who was accompanying me as far as New York. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and the situation was explained. Then I boarded the ship. I was unable to remain up, but having had the benefit of Christian Science teaching since early childhood, I knew that I could never be out of God's constant care.

On the evening of the second day out, the ship's doctor and a nurse visited me. They explained that it was the usual shipboard practice for them to visit all passengers who remained in their cabins for more than two days because of illness. I thanked them but refused their offer of medical attention.
