USING CHRISTIAN SCIENCE IN BUSINESS

In the human striving in business, men are prone to seek reasons for their success or excuses for their failure to extract great material returns for their efforts. Some show great pride in or belittle their own abilities or those of their associates. The First Commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" (Ex. 20:3), is often forgotten or, if remembered, is shrugged off as having no application in present-day business.

The revelation of Christian Science is changing this. All through the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, we find revealed the truth of God's allness. In the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy gives us the following definition of God (p. 587): "The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence." The truth that God is all-knowing Mind is demonstrable in every situation. To the Christian Scientist, this truth is the governing factor in all business and is proved by any sincere student of this Science when Christian Science is applied to business.

The student's understanding of his identity as a reflection of the all-knowing Mind enables him to see his problems in their proper perspective. One must see himself and each of his associates in his true being as an heir of the all-knowing Mind. This true seeing results in the demonstration of one's real identity. It is the unfolding understanding of the Principle which governs all activity in the world of God's creating.
