I should like to express gratitude...

I should like to express gratitude for the healing of a goiter. I was a teacher at the time, and the doctor who examined me told me that I must resign my teaching profession at once and have an operation. Instead, I wrote to a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful treatment and continued my schoolwork. It was quite some time before all fear was conquered and the healing completed, but not a trace of the goiter remains.

However, it was not until I had a severe break in health that I learned to rely completely on God. A practitioner had worked patiently for me, but when the healing did not come I became impatient and allowed my husband to take me to a hospital. During the night I woke up and fully realized that I could never rely on material aid again. I refused all medicine and the operation that had been planned for me and asked to be taken home.

A practitioner worked for me again, and as I learned to trust God, to be more humble, and to be more thankful for the good already received, the healing came. I am thankful for the many lessons I learned during that time, most of which was spent reading the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
