It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I submit this testimony to show the regenerating and healing power of Christian Science. For many years I had longed to know God, and I had reached a time when I earnestly prayed for a practical understanding of Him. My introduction to the great fact of the perfection and inseparability of God and man, as Mrs. Eddy teaches in conformity with the Bible, was a direct answer to my prayer. This wonderful revelation began immediately to lift thought above the contemplation of a material, struggling, personal sense of existence, and enabled me to glimpse somewhat man's true being as reflection.

The occasion soon arose which was to test my understanding of this healing power. One Friday during an epidemic of diphtheria my son was sent home from school, feeling very ill and much afraid. These words from the Bible came to me (Ex. 13: 21): "The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light." This passage brought such confidence in the nearness and willingness of God to heal that I felt as though the room were alight with the light of God's love. This uplifted sense resulted in an instantaneous release from all the symptoms of diphtheria which my son was manifesting at that time. On Monday the boy returned to school, quite free.

I am grateful for many more quick healings in our family, too numerous to relate. However, with a humble desire to help and encourage others I should like to mention the overcoming of pneumonia, blood poisoning, and bilious prostration. Unemployment likewise yielded when Christian Science treatment was applied.
