I have been so helped by the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals that it is my desire to share with others my experiences and healings in Christian Science. Some came through the help of practitioners, and others through my own understanding.

I knew nothing of Christian Science when it was presented to me by a neighbor. I had been told by a physician that the birth of my child would be a breech delivery. This verdict caused me much fear and anxiety. My neighbor spoke to me as one having authority, saying that the child could be born properly, and the birth proved to be a normal one.

Later, because of paralysis of the bowels, internal poisoning, and a nervous breakdown, I began using narcotics. The attending physicians gave me up as a hopeless case. At this crucial time this dear neighbor again came to my bedside and spoke to me for hours each day of God's goodness and love. She also did prayerful metaphysical work for me and gave me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as well as one of Mrs. Eddy's biographies. I destroyed all the pills, medicine, and sleeping tablets, which I had been in the habit of using, and I slept peacefully for the first time in years. Everything seemed new to me; old fears and ailments passed away. I felt that I was being born of Spirit, of Truth and Love.
