I am very grateful for Christian Science and for the woman from whom I first heard of it when I was a girl. She came to our home twice and told us about Christian Science and how it works.

I was almost always ill, and my gums used to swell so badly that for two or three weeks at a time I could hardly speak or eat. The doctors said they had never seen anything like it. One of them said that I had a diseased bone in my face and must have it removed at once. Mother feared that this might disfigure me for life and asked the doctor not to operate.

Then I thought of some of the truths of Christian Science, which the woman had told us of, and I knew that I was going to be all right. I saw that man cannot be diseased, because God is not. The next morning I was playing about the house, and when the doctor examined my face again, he found that it had been healed.
