Laramie, Wyoming (First Church).

Two dedicatory services for the new edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Laramie, located at Thirteenth and Grand, will be held Sunday. ...

Sunday's event marks another step in the progress of Christian Science in this community. In 1894 meetings were first held in a Laramie home with three people present, and they continued until 1896 when the meetings were held in the Odd Fellows Hall with fifteen people attending. Later the group met in St. Mathews Hall, and a church building fund was started. In January, 1904, a society was formed, and a Sunday School was organized during that year. As the years went by, moves were made using various meeting places such as the Swedish Lutheran Church and the Elks Building. On September 7, 1919, an old home situated at 408 University Avenue was purchased and remodeled for a church edifice and Reading Room.
