Healing Through Spiritual Awakening

Healing in Christian Science means waking up. It means waking up to the infinite goodness of God and to man's rich blessings as His beloved son. It means waking up from the dark dreams of sin, sickness, fear, and grief that haunt mortal life. It means waking up to our God-bestowed freedom from evil of every sort.

Christ Jesus said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

His whole life showed what he meant. He found people crippled by disease, held in chains by vice, overwhelmed with sorrow; and by the power of his spiritual love and understanding he woke them to the true facts about themselves, and they were free. What had long seemed to them so real and inescapable suddenly fell away, like a bad dream that vanishes when we open our eyes to the light. Even death itself fled before the light of his understanding. When news came to him that his friend Lazarus had died, he said to his disciples (John 11:11), "Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep." And he restored him to life.
