Christian Science was introduced into our home by an aunt who was healed of a nervous disorder. My mother accepted this demonstrable religion and practiced it to the extent of her understanding. However, my father would not accept its teachings, although we children had experienced several convincing proofs of the healing efficacy of this beautiful truth, and the family drifted away from it.

Later I experienced a digestive disturbance, which a physician diagnosed as colitis. From that time on I became a "guinea pig" for experimental diets, none of which brought relief. In addition, I was confined to bed with phlebitis.

My father, seeing my suffering, finally consented to my having help from a Christian Science practitioner. I was out of bed and free from pain in a comparatively short time, although my difficulties had not been entirely healed. Instead of relying further on Christian Science, however, I turned again to material means. Dieting was resumed, and I continued in a weakened condition, finally suffering a severe attack of neuritis. After I had undergone several days of extreme pain help in Christian Science was once again requested, and I received an instantaneous healing of the neuritis.
