My sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science compels me to write about a healing I received over twenty-five years ago. After I had had many years of suffering and had had treatments by several doctors, a stomach specialist advised my wife that he could not give her much hope for me, even with an operation, as gallstones and other disorders were too serious.

On the very day of his verdict a friend telephoned, and my wife told her what the doctor had said. Our friend then asked why we did not try Christian Science and call a practitioner. She said that Science had been the only help in their family for many years, and she assured my wife that I too could be healed.

My wife was rather skeptical, but she did call a practitioner, who began to give me treatment. One week later I was back at work. This healing made me realize what the study of Christian Science does for us. I began to see that Christ, Truth, makes us free from false appetites, and I found freedom from the drinking and smoking habits. Later we were protected from serious injuries when a speeding train hit our automobile. We have been healed of various discordant conditions.
