For what Christian Science has...

For what Christian Science has meant to so many throughout the world and for what it has meant in my own experience, I feel deeply grateful to God. The Christ, Truth, taught by Jesus and revealed by Mary Baker Eddy, has been my mainstay for most of my life.

In our family we have witnessed many healings through Christian Science. An aunt was healed of a tumor. And I have been healed of pneumonia, quinsy, and colds. Also, I have experienced harmonious childbirths through Christian Science. When my son was born, the birth was breech delivery. It was so harmonious, however, that the attending physician pronounced it a miracle. I am grateful for the alertness of the Christian Science nurse in attendance and for the devoted work of a practitioner.

Christian Science meets our every need; this has been proved time and time again whenever I have applied it to my problems. It has been a wonderful comfort and guide in the rearing of my children. Many times diseases have been overcome when the symptoms were most alarming.

At one time I had an infected toe which became very inflamed. I was moved from the home of a relative who was not a Christian Scientist and who was urging medical attention to the home of an aunt who was interested in Christian Science. The situation came to the point where we asked the practitioner to come to the home. After she had sat with me and we had discussed thoroughly the wonderful healing thoughts in the Lord's Prayer and its spiritual interpretation as given to us on pages 16 and 17 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I hobbled to the door with her. As we were saying good-by I felt a release in my foot, and looking down I saw that the toe had opened and was draining. From that time the toe healed rapidly.

I am sincerely grateful for everything connected with Christian Science: our churches, our Sunday Schools, our literature, our lectures, and the help of our practitioners. Most of all I am grateful for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who so lovingly and wisely provided that the truth should be available to all mankind.—(Mrs.) Elizabeth T. Linde Yount, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
