I wish to put on record my gratitude for Christian Science, which has helped me for many years and with many problems. An outstanding healing I had, proved to me for all time the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."

I developed an infected thumb which got worse and worse. I assured myself that since God had never made such a thing, it could not belong to His child. From that moment I had no pain and no fear. However, the thumb continued to get worse. It became quite discolored, and it swelled to three times its normal size. I could not wear a glove to hide it, and various people in shops or buses made remarks about it. I decided to cover it with a bandage, and I procured one from a chemist, who told me the thumb was in a very dangerous condition and must be lanced at once. The chemist's fear did not disturb me at all, however.

On the next day I had an appointment with a Christian Science practitioner regarding quite another matter. Before going to her office, I asked my son to arrange the bandage for me. He expressed very great concern at the condition of the thumb, but I assured him that it was quite painless and that it would clear up soon, as I was relying entirely upon God for healing.
