MAN INSEPARABLE FROM GOD

Many of us have witnessed what is called an "obstacle race." The contestants look upon the hazards placed in their path as obstacles to be surmounted, not as impassable obstructions, and they conquer them with a sense of joy. The human experience of many may be likened to just such a race; but real life, the true sense of being which is God-bestowed, is not an "obstacle race."

The Bible declares (John 1:3, 4): "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men." As we walk in this light, the dark shadows of error disappear, and our life becomes more harmonious. God indeed guides and governs our every step.

Christian Science reveals that God is All—all Life, Spirit, Mind, Soul, Principle, Truth, and Love— the source of all good. God and His creation constitute reality. Therefore all that is unlike God, good, is false and does not exist in the realm of reality. Through understanding and adhering to the fundamental rules of this Science, we gain health, joy, abundance, and find satisfaction in being and doing good. Mary Baker Eddy says in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 172): "Mental Science, and the five personal senses, are at war; and peace can only be declared on the side of immutable right,—the health, holiness, and immortality of man. To gain this scientific result, the first and fundamental rule of Science must be understood and adhered to; namely, the oft-repeated declaration in Scripture that God is good; hence, good is omnipotent and omnipresent."
