"DAILY SUPPLIES"

Christ Jesus showed by parables, precepts, and example how insufficiency and poverty are overcome when one turns actively and unreservedly to God. Matthew, the former well-to-do tax collector, quotes Jesus as saying (6:33), "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Poverty is as much a mental and individual experience as are sin and sickness. Jesus proved this when he healed lack by purely spiritual means. However, the rich and permanent fruitage from these healings was not found in the wine provided by Jesus at the wedding, nor in the loaves and fishes which satisfied his hungry listeners. No, the real and eternal substance which the Master bestowed on his followers for all time, to come was in the revelation of man's true source of supply, namely Spirit, God.

Earnest students of Christian Science are thoroughly convinced that matter, drugs, and surgery are, in themselves, utterly incapable of healing diseases. But sometimes they take a less radical stand when it comes to the use of such means as the inheritance of money, speculation in the stock market, and so forth, as remedies for the healing of poverty.
