In Proverbs we read (8:10),...

In Proverbs we read (8:10), "Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold." I have found in my study of Christian Science that nothing can compare with the joy of proving God's love for man.

Over a period of four years I had several operations and was told by a specialist that I would be a semi-invalid for the rest of my life because of a weakened kidney condition. About seven years ago I was introduced to Christian Science by a stranger, who sensed my need for healing. She loaned me her copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. In two weeks I returned the book and made a train trip, the first trip I had ever taken on which I was not sick.

I then purchased my own copy of Science and Health and called on a practitioner, who showed me how to study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and who answered my many questions regarding Christian Science. I had help from the practitioner and studied daily. In a very short time I was free from pain and was leading a very active life. I am grateful for the overcoming of unlovely traits of character, such as selfishness, pride, and bad temper. Twice I have had almost instantaneous healings of severe burns.
