I have long had the desire to express my thanks in our periodicals for the many blessings I have experienced through the application of Christian Science.

My mother was always sickly until she tried Christian Science, and she was then healed of bowel trouble. She offered me copies of The Herald of Christian Science (German Edition), and one Wednesday she asked me to go with her to the testimony meeting in a Church of Christ, Scientist. I did so only out of love for my mother, for I was employed as organist in an orthodox church and regarded Christian Science as heresy. At that time it often happened that the ministers attacked Christian Science, and these attacks strengthened me in my opinion.

I can say, however, that like Saul of Tarsus, I became converted. After nearly twenty-five years' service as organist, I withdrew from the orthodox church and became a member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. When an organ was acquired, I was selected to play it. I became deeply interested in the teachings of Christian Science, made much spiritual progress, and received class instruction.
