Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us...
Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. XVII, Sect. 2), "Gratitude and love should abide in every heart each day of all the years." I wish to acknowledge through the periodicals the gratitude and love that abide in my heart.
Many years ago my mother and I were introduced to Christian Science when she was healed instantaneously of blood poisoning after medical means had failed. The inspiration of that wonderful healing has carried us through problems that appeared insoluble, because we knew the Christ, Truth, was always available.
It has been my happy privilege to experience numerous healings, including those of diphtheria and hay fever. Constipation was healed when I saw that physical elimination has no connection with true health. Criticism and sensitiveness have likewise been overcome. Christian Science has never failed to dissipate the mist of materiality when prayerfully applied. However, it is the spiritual awakening to what constitutes true selfhood, the daily protection, and the joy of church membership, that make Christian Science the greatest thing in my experience. Class instruction and my activity as an advertising representative of The Christian Science Monitor have brought me a great deal of happiness.
