FOLLOWING THROUGH

"Success in life depends upon persistent effort,  upon the improvement of moments more than upon any other one thing." This is a quotation from page 230 of "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mary Baker Eddy.

The world has reason to be ceaselessly grateful to Mrs. Eddy, for it was she who made the coming of the Comforter a reality, a prophecy come true, a kept promise cradled in divine healings. After reading of the discovery of Christian Science and of its Discoverer and Founder, Mrs. Eddy, in authentic biographies and in her autobiographical section of "Retrospection and Introspection," one sees clearly that Mrs. Eddy used her moments wisely and thereby followed through and completed the phenomenal task of establishing the Cause of Christian Science. She indeed followed our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, in his example of successful accomplishment.

It is well to appreciate also the record of Abraham, whose faith in good established a more spiritual concept of God; of Jacob, whose experience led him to a higher understanding of man; and of Joseph, whose sense of forgiveness exemplified spiritual brotherhood. Moses continued the unfoldment of the Christ, Truth, to human consciousness in his role as deliverer and Lawgiver. These righteous men paved the way for the Saviour, Christ Jesus. The pattern continued with the establishment of Christian Science by Mrs. Eddy.
