OUR DEMONSTRATION OF THE CHRIST

As Christian Scientists we progress in the degree that we demonstrate the Christ-consciousness, imaging forth in daily living God's abundance, love, health, harmony, joy, and goodness.

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy tells us what must be accomplished if we are to demonstrate Christliness, or true manhood. She states (p. 430), "Mortal mind must part with error, must put off itself with its deeds, and immortal manhood, the Christ ideal, will appear." Therefore to manifest our true selfhood, it is necessary for human thought to relinquish false material beliefs, and through spiritual understanding to realize that man is spiritual and reflects the qualities of God, Spirit. The demonstration of man's spiritual selfhood is accomplished through the expressing of Christlike qualities.

The Christ-idea, the emanation of God, Spirit, is animated, vitalized, and motivated by Mind. This idea always exists at the standpoint of harmonious, painless perfection. In the degree that we accept these truths we can manifest them in our experience.
