One afternoon I began to manifest...
One afternoon I began to manifest a condition which developed into a hemorrhage. I tried quietly to study, and I earnestly worked with Mary Baker Eddy's definition of man beginning on page 475 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." By evening, however, the hemorrhage was severe, and I called a Christian Science practitioner for help.
The practitioner made several strong statements of Truth and assured me that matter can make no conditions for man. She promised to take up prayerful work for me immediately and requested that I call her back if I was not soon free. I am grateful to say that the bleeding eased almost at once and then stopped. The healing was complete and permanent with the one treatment.
At another time I requested help for the healing of pneumonia. The practitioner was led to deny the thought of condemnation on the part of those who thought I should rely on medical aid. We worked with the wonderfully inspiring words from Romans (8:1), "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." It was pointed out that I must bring my consciousness of man into oneness, or unity, with the Mind of Christ, wherein there is no condemnation.
