I have had many healings through studying the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as well as through the help of practitioners. As a child I was very sickly. I had weak kidneys and a running sore on my throat, for which the many physicians consulted could do nothing. As a result my education was very limited.

When I was about to enter my teens, my mother heard of a woman who healed by a method called Christian Science. When my mother spoke of this to my father he replied, "Christian Science; that sounds good to me." The next day he took me to see this woman, who was a practitioner, and asked her to help me. She worked for me, and I was completely healed in that one treatment.

My father, who had been sickly for many years, was healed at the same time. Not long afterward he laid aside his glasses, and he never used them again. The textbook and the Christian Science Quarterly were immediately purchased, and they were used from that day on. My father kept my four brothers, my sister, and me together after the passing of our mother, and for the training he gave us in Christian Science I cannot find words to express my thanks.
