I became interested in Christian Science through hearing a lecture on this religion, and I at once felt a desire to study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At that time I was using much medicine. Every night for nine years I had taken medicine in order to be able to sleep. One evening I read the chapter on Prayer in the textbook, although I had great difficulty in translating the words well enough to understand them. After that I could take no more medicine, and I threw away all I had. Thereafter I was able to sleep peacefully at night.

I am grateful for the understanding I have gained that Spirit is All and that man and the universe are spiritual. When my hands were covered with warts, I was much annoyed, and for some time my prayerful work was without success. My annoyance left me when I humbly prayed to God to show me the way. Then I realized that man made in God's image and likeness can have nothing that God has not made. The warts disappeared without leaving a scar.

Through the help of practitioners at various times I have had many healings, including an instantaneous one of rheumatism. Severe constipation of thirty years' standing, attacks of asthma, varicose veins, sick headaches, nasal polyps, and burns have all been healed. A wound on my hand healed while I was attending an annual association meeting.
