Truly, my gratitude for Christian Science...

Truly, my gratitude for Christian Science could never be adequately expressed in mere words. I have had numerous healings, which include those of severe headaches, sinus, and constipation, which had troubled me for many years. With the loving help of a practitioner I had an instantaneous healing of a painful kidney complaint, of which I was greatly afraid.

A more recent healing, which I should like to relate, proved Mrs. Eddy's statement (Science and Health, p. 66), "Trials are proofs of God's care." I was walking down a steep flight of stairs with my mother. Thinking I had reached the bottom, I took the last two steps as if they were one. This threw me off balance and bent one leg back to such an extent and with such force that I was not able to straighten it.

The pain was very great. I held on to my mother and to the banister for support and immediately declared, "There is no accident in Mind, and I am not hurt." I also repeated aloud "the scientific statement of being" (ibid., p. 468). Then the thought came to me: "There is no pain in Love, and as Love's reflection I cannot experience pain." The pain instantly ceased, and I found that I had straightened my leg and was standing properly. I was completely free and immediately went on again with my normal activities.
