"There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling" (Ps. 91:10). In a measure I have demonstrated that promise through my daily study and practice of the truths in the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. For some time I have prayed that the presence of God be felt in our home and that all who enter may be blessed.

We live on a farm and have no close neighbors. Late one evening a young man came to our door and represented himself as a leader of a 4-H boys' club. He said that he had noticed we had quite a few chickens and that he wanted information about raising some; so we invited him in.

We talked awhile about chickens, and then he asked to use the telephone. When I showed him where it was he suddenly took out a large knife and cut the wires. Then he came back to the living room, where my husband was sitting, and held the knife to my husband's throat. He was not interested in chickens, he said, but wanted whatever we had of value.
