It is with a great sense of thankfulness...

It is with a great sense of thankfulness to God that I send this testimony. Christian Science came to our family over fifty years ago with the healing of my mother, who had suffered from consumption for many years. After the doctor said that she would be with us for only a short time, she asked for Christian Science help; and in a few days my mother was healed. She lived more than fifteen years after that.

About forty years ago the desire to smoke left me so completely that I felt as though I never had smoked. My greatest blessing has been that of protection in driving my car about a thousand miles each month. One day as I was about to put a very important special delivery letter into a mailbox it was as though a voice said, "Look at the address." I listened to the warning and found that the address was not complete. An important message would have been delayed or even lost if I had let it go as it was. These are only a few of the many things for which I am grateful to God and which have come about as a result of my regularly studying Christian Science.

Being a traveling salesman, I am especially thankful for the Sunday services and Wednesday testimony meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist, as well as for the lectures. The Reading Rooms are a wonderful haven and afford opportunity for much inspiration. Church membership, class instruction, and yearly association meetings make the way easier. I am very thankful for the tireless efforts of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, in giving us her writings and establishing the Christian Science movement.— Fred L. Butterfield, Los Angeles, California.
