Every day I thank divine Love for showing me the way in Christian Science. I am grateful to know the truth of God and man. Two statements of the truth have meant much to me in working out problems. The first is Jesus' promise (John 8:31, 32), "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The second statement is Mrs. Eddy's reminder in Science and Health (p. 410): "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger. The more difficult seems the material condition to be overcome by Spirit, the stronger should be our faith and the purer our love."

One of the first demonstrations of Christian Science I had was that of a harmonious childbirth when our second child was born. Although Christian Science had appealed to me because it was so logical that I knew that it was the truth, I had never put it into practice for myself. When a practitioner recommended that I have Christian Science help when the baby was to arrive, I felt that such a step was impossible for me to take; but I gave it much thought and prayer. Finally I decided that I would put my trust in God, divine Love. To overcome my extreme fear I dropped all outside interests and studied the Bible and Science and Health almost continuously. The experience was without discord and was a wonderful blessing to me.
