ETERNAL SPRING
Song of Solomon 2:11, 12
Winter
is past, the flowers now appear;
The time of singing birds is come again.
Once more the verdant grass is growing here,
And sunshine dries the gentle showers of rain.
Resurgent earth has been transformed anew
With lovely burgeoning on every hand;
And so the heart refreshed by heavenly dew
Bursts into bloom beneath Love's healing hand.
Renewed by Spirit, every day is filled
With signs of growth that are abundant, sure,
As all the wintry storms of earth are stilled,
Bringing deep peace that keeps each motive pure.
Within the heart where angel voices sing
Winter must yield to God's eternal spring.
