While listening to one of the radio programs, "How Christian Science Heals," I was reminded of my first healing in 1903 when "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was brought into the home by a member of the family. I thought I did not want Christian Science, but I began to read this book almost at once and read little else for perhaps a month or six weeks. Thoughts like these kept coming to me: "How beautiful! How grand! If it is only true!" Soon I was healed of a goiter, which just disappeared. I was awed at this, and my gratitude was boundless for the fact that I was able to breathe and sleep normally.

Later I gave up all use of medicine, and this freedom from dependence on it was so complete that in our family of four children no material remedies have ever been used. A son recently completed his term of service as First Reader in a branch church in another city, and a daughter is now serving as a Second Reader. We have had many healings through Science, and I am grateful to the loving and helpful practitioners. I thank God for His guidance and protection all along the way; for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and for Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
