Over twenty years ago a couple who roomed where I did told me enough about Christian Science for me to want to know more of this religion, which they described as one of answered prayer. They introduced me to a practitioner, who lovingly devoted much time to helping me learn of the Christ, Truth.

I had just returned from five years in the oil fields of Mexico, where I had witnessed much violence, and I was harassed at night by the unpleasant pictures that came to my thought. I was at the point where I dreaded to see night come and was afraid that I was going insane. The second or third day after I asked the practitioner for help, and started studying Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, my healing came, and it has been permanent.

For years I had been bothered by chronic constipation and had used a number of different medicines without accomplishing a cure. Although I do not recall mentioning the condition to the practitioner, because it seemed trivial compared to the mental condition, I soon noticed that I was no longer troubled by constipation. This healing too has been permanent.
