THE PATHWAY OF LIGHT

The Psalmist sang with confidence and sweet assurance (Ps. 119:105), "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Today a lamp whose light is bright is again burning in a world darkened with materialism. Christian Science, demonstrating the teachings of the master Metaphysician, Christ Jesus, is flooding the earth with the light of its revelation that man is the perfect expression of his Father-Mother God. Since there is no error in cause, or Principle, there can be none in effect, or expression. The so-called material man and universe were never made by Spirit, God, and are only a supposititious mortal mind creation, the mere negation of being, as darkness is the negative of light.

Students of Christian Science are grateful for the light which comes to them through their understanding of God as Love, the Father-Mother who lovingly cares for His children. This understanding dispels mortal mind with its illusions of sin and sickness and brings to view God's law of harmony.

The first recorded command of God is (Gen. 1:3), "Let there be light." And Mary Baker Eddy writes in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 510, 511): "Light is a symbol of Mind, of Life, Truth, and Love, and not a vitalizing property of matter. Science reveals only one Mind, and this one shining by its own light and governing the universe, including man, in perfect harmony."
