Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health...
Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (Pref., p. vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." These words have been most helpful and encouraging to me in my daily life. How very wonderful it is to know that the sustaining infinite is always present and ready to answer our call with its harmony, power, and completeness! The understanding of this fact is a staff on which to lean in all the trials which beset our pathway from sense to Soul. I am truly grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and for the participation it has been my privilege to enjoy in the activities of the group of earnest Christian Scientists in our town.
Christian Science was brought to me a number of years ago by a friend. He had only just become interested in Science, but he told me what he knew about it, and he added that it was a pity there was not someone who could explain it to me. I replied that there was a Christian Scientist in our small town a few miles away. He immediately asked me to go there the next morning and placed his car and chauffeur at my disposal, I went, not knowing what I was going to say on arriving there. However, I was smilingly met, some truths of Christian Science were explained to me, and a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was lent to me. After reading a few chapters of this textbook, I realized that a condition from which I had been suffering at menopause had been healed. I immediately took all my medicines and consigned them to the dustbin.
I should like to relate another healing I experienced. One morning upon awaking, I realized that I had completely lost the sight of one eye. There appeared to be a dense red mist before the eye which my sight could not penetrate. This condition continued for some days without any change. Becoming perturbed about it, I decided to consult an eye specialist.
