WHEN THEY SAW

He had given them so many proofs before,
And as they went in, making fast the door,
They must have felt their vision getting clearer;
They must have had a sense of drawing nearer
To Christ, And then—then, suddenly they knew.
They saw their Master standing in full view,
Saw he was there, and understood the fact
Of man, God's man, eternally intact.
